Complex Trauma

Complex trauma develops when difficult or painful experiences happen repeatedly—often within important relationships—without enough emotional safety, support, or repair. Over time, our nervous system learns to stay on guard, and parts of you may work hard to manage emotions by disconnecting, people-pleasing, over-functioning, or pushing feelings aside just to get through. These responses are survival adaptations, not flaws. In therapy, we focus on creating a safe, supportive relationship where emotions can be gently experienced, understood, and transformed—helping you reconnect with your core strength, resilience, and capacity for healing and meaningful connection

Anxiety

Anxiety can be understood as a protective response rather than a problem to get rid of. It often shows up when your nervous system has learned that certain emotions, needs, or situations might not feel safe, and it works hard to keep you alert, prepared, and in control. While anxiety can feel overwhelming, it is often a signal that something important inside you needs care and understanding. In therapy, we slow things down and gently explore what your anxiety is protecting, helping you feel safer with your emotions and more connected to your inner strength, clarity, and sense of calm.

Depression

Depression often develops when emotions such as grief, anger, or longing have been pushed down for a long time in order to survive or stay connected to others. Here, it is not seen as a failure or weakness, but as a meaningful response to emotional pain that may have felt too heavy to carry alone. Depression can feel like numbness, exhaustion, or disconnection, yet underneath it is a part of you that once worked hard to protect your heart. In therapy, we gently create space for these emotions to be felt and understood, helping energy, vitality, and a sense of hope naturally begin to return.

Attachment

Attachment styles describe the ways we learn to connect with others, shaped early in life through our relationships with caregivers. When childhood experiences include inconsistency, emotional neglect, or trauma, these early patterns can influence how safe, close, or supported relationships feel in adulthood. The good news is that attachment patterns are not fixed—through awareness and supportive therapy, new and more secure ways of relating can develop over time.
